MAD’24 workshop on Multimedia AI against Disinformation

AI4Debunk, AI4Media, and vera.ai co-organized the MAD’24 workshop on Multimedia AI against Disinformation at the ACM International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval on June 10th in Phuket, Thailand.

The workshop brought together a diverse group of professionals dedicated to leveraging AI to enhance the detection and analysis of disinformation in multimedia content. The program featured a mix of technical sessions and insightful talks from two external speakers.

  • Prof. Duc Tien Dang Nguyen, who gave a talk about “Multimedia AI vs Information Disorder: a journey of discovery”, discussing the power of AI tools, geolocation, Internet archives, and social media monitoring in facilitating efficient evidence processing and verification.

     

  • Matyas Bohacek, who delivered a presentation on his experience creating an AI news anchor, shedding light on its implications and challenges.

This event provided a dynamic platform for attendees to explore innovative solutions and share their expertise. The discussions and interactions emphasized the potential of multimodal AI in advancing the fight against disinformation, underscoring the importance of collaboration in this critical field.
