AI4Debunk Community Invited to Contribute to New Frontiers Research Topic on AI and Disinformation

The AI4Debunk community is invited to contribute to a new interdisciplinary Frontiers Research Topic on “AI and Disinformation: Approaches, Risks, Impacts, and Governance.”

The initiative is led by Dr. Alessia D’Andrea (Institute for Research on Population and Social Policy, National Research Council), Dr. Kevin El Haddad (University of Mons), and Dr. Arianna D’Ulizia (Institute for Research on Population and Social Policy, National Research Council), who are bringing together leading researchers from across disciplines to advance research on one of today’s most pressing societal challenges.

The Research Topic spans three complementary Frontiers journals, welcoming contributions from researchers in:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Communication Sciences
  • Sociology

This interdisciplinary approach makes it an excellent opportunity for researchers working on the technical, social, governance, ethical, communication, and policy dimensions of disinformation.

Authors are free to submit their work to one of the following journals:

  • Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence (AI for Human Learning and Behavior Change)
  • Frontiers in Communication (Media Governance and the Public Sphere)
  • Frontiers in Sociology (Media Governance and the Public Sphere)

The submission deadline is 27 November 2026, and the editors are currently identifying interested contributors so publications can begin well before the Topic closes.

More information about the Research Topic is available here:
https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/81030

We encourage researchers to take part in this important initiative and help strengthen interdisciplinary research on AI and disinformation.
